About
"SAFARI"
The word “SAFARI” in Safari Guesthouse means to go on an overland journey, a big game hunt, a trip to observe and photograph, hiking or sight-seeing, or even a business trip. The Swahili word “safari” means journey. The word comes originally from the Arabic word “safar” meaning a journey. The verb for “to travel” in Swahili is “kusafiri”. “Safari” entered the English language at the end of the 1850s thanks to Richard Francis Burton, the famous explorer. Today everybody visiting Vryburg or Safari guesthouse, is on “some kind” of journey.
